Names with history – a red thread through generations 🐾

Welcome to our blog at
Nordic Zwergpinschers
Here we share life with our Miniature Pinschers – from the very first days of our puppies to everyday moments and experiences as breeders. You'll find insights into the breed, our thoughts on health, temperament, and responsible breeding, as well as small glimpses behind the scenes.
This blog is for both future and current puppy owners – and for anyone who shares a love for the breed.
A little update from the whelping box 🖤💛❤️🤎
Fortunately, everything is going really well with both the mother and the little ones. They are developing steadily, gaining weight nicely, and following a healthy, even curve during this first, important period.
Sunday evening turned into a truly special night here with us. After a long and quiet start, the birth finally began – and our wonderful Fenya became the mother of two beautiful puppies.
There is something truly special about the final days of a pregnancy. Time almost stands still, and yet it is clear that everything will soon change.
Monday will be an exciting day, as the plan is to estimate the litter size. But when one is as pregnant as Fenya is now, most of the time is spent just lying around and floating… So why not do a real pregnancy photoshoot in flowers 🌸, like the ones seen everywhere? Relax — Fenya was already lying like that. AI just took care of the rest. 🤣...
Pregnancy – Day 45 😮💨🍼🐶
Fenya's normal weight is usually around 4.0 kg. When her heat started, we switched to Royal Canin reproduction food, and even before mating, she had already gained about 300 g.
Gestation update (Day 38)
Today we are at day 38 of the pregnancy.
I have received my certificate as a dog breeder 🐾
At home, emotions are really running high at the moment – both the very warm and exciting ones, but also the more worrying ones 💛
Fenya and Zorba have been carefully selected with a focus on health, temperament, and breed type. Fenya has been health tested with patella luxation PL 0/0 and has passed her official eye examination with approved results. She is a well-balanced female with a stable temperament and a typical breed expression.
