🐾 News from the dog pack – between joy, worries and hope🐾

01/03/2026

At home, emotions are really running high at the moment – both the very warm and exciting ones, but also the more worrying ones 💛

As some may know, I am currently taking the breeder education through DKK, and in the middle of it all, we have our own little journey at home… Our lovely Fenya is now on day 29 of her pregnancy 🐶✨

Changes are slowly but surely happening – her nipples have gone from light to pretty pink shades, and her mood has become even more loving 🥹 She constantly seeks closeness, wants to cuddle all the time and also takes more naps during the day. It is so lovely to follow her in this phase.

But life with dogs is not only about the bright moments…

Our old, beloved Frida has had a really tough month with the cold ❄️ The walks have been short and quick, and it has been clear that it has taken a toll on her.

At the same time, I started noticing that she was leaking and that there was a clear, slimy discharge. Since she is spayed, I naturally became worried and contacted our vet.

Fortunately, our wonderful vet, Natali – the cycling vet 🚲🐾 – came for a home visit. Blood samples were taken, and I collected a urine sample, which was sent to the laboratory.

The results came the next day… and as feared, Frida has become incontinent.
She has now started on Incurin, an estrogen preparation that helps strengthen the sphincter muscle – and which has also been chosen with consideration for the fact that Frida has a hole in her left heart valve – due to wear and tear and the signs of old age.

And already now – on day 4 – we are seeing a huge difference 💛
She is happy again and no longer leaking. It is an enormous relief.

But unfortunately, there is also another concern that needs to be examined more closely…
There is a suspicion that Frida may also have tumors in her body, which we now need to follow up on. It is a difficult thought to carry, but the focus is on taking one day at a time and on her quality of life and happiness.

Fortunately, the weather is also starting to become milder 🌿☀️, and that is certainly helping the little madam as well.

So at home there is both excitement about new life – and care for an older lady who is being looked after with extra love 🐾💕

Thank you for following along – and an extra loving thought is sent to Frida & Fenya 💛
