A trip from Nørrebro to Søborg Hovedgade – or: when Fenya met her audience

The trip went from Nørrebro to Søborg Hovedgade to visit one of the country’s most skilled veterinarians in eye certification. Fenya is, as previously mentioned, a rather special dog. Especially when it comes to strangers, she is very determined, serious and – by her own account – extremely intelligent. Louise got to experience that as well when the time came for the eye examination.

To Fenya, the whole situation seemed quite mysterious. Normally, clinics are only visited when there is an “ouch ouch” or for major treatments – and for the annual check-ups, the kind vet even comes to the home. So already at that point, her world order was slightly disturbed.

And as if that were not enough, her heat had just started the day before. On arrival, two male dogs were standing in the waiting room, looking somewhat confused – one of them possibly with the beginnings of cataracts – and both with their gaze fixed on the sweet-smelling pinscher girl in my arms.

She handled it… nicely.
Very nicely.
In that “I see you, but you are not touching me” kind of way.

When Louise came out, there was a warm welcome, and everyone was shown into another room so Fenya could have some peace to take in her surroundings before anyone attempted to look into her mirror to the soul.

Already then, Fenya showed a certain scepticism about the situation:
What the hell are we doing here?

It was agreed that everything would be handled in the safest possible way for Fenya. Louise started by putting contrast fluid in her eyes so the pupils could dilate. It took a few minutes before the examination could begin – and in the meantime, Fenya simply took a little nap.

After almost 20 minutes, it was time for the familiar burrito baby blanket (that is: the dog neatly wrapped in a blanket). Louise was allowed to look and shine her funny instruments – but every look cost a biscuit.

Because when Fenya first stepped into the room with Louise, she had already spotted the Ficarro treats on the table. Apparently, Louise and Fenya had made a trade.

The examination was completed with excellent results, and an approval that is now registered with the DKK. 🐾✨
